1.1. National Planning Policy Framework (2021) requires local planning authorities to identify and maintain a five-year land supply of deliverable land for housing.

1.2. Planning Policy Guidance: Housing Supply and Delivery states:

A 5 year land supply is a supply of specific deliverable sites sufficient to provide 5 years’ worth of housing (and appropriate buffer) against a housing requirement set out in adopted strategic policies, or against a local housing need figure, using the standard method, as appropriate in accordance with paragraph 73 of the National Planning Policy Framework. 1.3. This report sets out the availability of housing land supply for the period 2022 to 2027. It takes a baseline of 31 March 2022.
